Electronic point of contact for authorities

Under Article 11 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (the Digital Services Act), our single point of contact for Member State authorities, the European Commission and the European Board for Digital Services is privacy@relocat.org.

We accept communication from these authorities in English and in German.

Point of contact for recipients of the Service

Under Article 12 of the Digital Services Act, recipients of the Service can reach us at privacy@relocat.org. Our report page explains how to notify us about content on the Service. This address is read by a person; we do not answer it with automated tools alone.

Terrorist content removal orders

Under Article 15 of Regulation (EU) 2021/784, our single electronic point of contact for terrorist-content removal orders is privacy@relocat.org. We act on a valid order within one hour of receiving it, as the Regulation requires. In Germany these orders are issued by the Bundeskriminalamt.

Supervisory authority

Our competent data protection supervisory authority is the Sächsische Datenschutz- und Transparenzbeauftragte, Maternistraße 17, 01067 Dresden.

Digital Services Coordinator

Our Digital Services Coordinator is the Bundesnetzagentur in Bonn, the competent German authority under the Digital Services Act. You can complain to it about our compliance with that Regulation. It remains your point of contact for the whole of that complaint, even if it passes your file to another authority.

Dispute resolution

We do not take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. Our operator employed ten or fewer people on 31 December of the prior year, so we are not obliged to (§ 36(3) VSBG).

If a dispute over a consumer contract with you cannot be settled between us, we will name a competent consumer arbitration board here, with its address and website (§ 37 VSBG).

Source code

The Relocat app is free software under the GNU General Public License version 3 or later, with additional permissions for app-store distribution and platform SDKs. Its source code is published, or is available on request at no charge until the public repository exists. The server software is ours and is not published. Earlier versions of this page offered the server’s source code on request. That offer ends when version 8 of the Terms of Service takes effect; a request received before that date is honoured under the licence version 7 named. See our Source code page.

Governing law

We specify German law (Germany) as the law governing our contracts with you. This does not remove the protections given by mandatory provisions of the law of your own country of habitual residence. See Section 20 of the Terms of Service for the full clause.

Version 8 (October 2026): Section 9 rewritten. The app is free software under the GNU General Public License version 3 or later, with additional permissions for app-store distribution and platform SDKs; the server software is ours and is not published. The offer of the server’s source code on request, carried by earlier versions of this section, ends when version 8 of the Terms of Service takes effect; a request received before that date is honoured under the licence version 7 named. The section’s heading no longer names a licence, and the link points to the Source page at /source/. No other section changes.

Version 7 (September 2026): Names the operator as a natural person established in Leipzig, Germany, for the first time. States that a data protection officer is being appointed. Adds the points of contact required by the Digital Services Act for authorities and for recipients, accepted in English and German, and the contact point for terrorist-content removal orders. Names the competent supervisory authority and the Digital Services Coordinator. Adds a dispute-resolution statement under the VSBG. Specifies German law as the governing law, without removing the mandatory consumer protections of the reader’s own country, replacing the previous statement that governing law would be fixed on incorporation.
